Claims Handler

A Insurance specialists are recruiting for a new Claims Handler to join their claims team which would suit either a graduate or someone with 1 to 2 years' office experience, and a minimum of 5 GCSE's at C and above including Maths and English.

The job involves handling claims in a team specialising in particular classes of business (motor/property/liability) with defined parameters of complexity and value.  Assisting in the delivery of appropriate customer service and making the best contribution to profit objectives of the business through the use of technical skills.  Assisting as required in the general support of colleagues and the team.  The principal activities within the team will be registering new claims, reserves management, assessment of liability and recovery procedures.

Ideally applicants will have experience of evaluating, negotiating and settling claims, including an understanding of standard policy contracts and knowledge of procedures within a claims department, and must be prepared to work towards the Insurance Institute - Certificate in Insurance qualification.
