Leadership Opportunity: Chair of The Convenor and Tribunal Board
Are you interested in making a difference to the lives of children and young people? The Convenor and Tribunal Board is seeking a new Chair of the Board. A pivotal leadership role within the independent body that supports the Office of the Children’s Convenor and the Child, Youth and Community Tribunal.
As Chair, you will:
- Leading a Board of up to eight members, providing strategic direction and oversight.
- Working closely with the Children’s Convenor and the President of the Tribunal to ensure the System functions effectively and efficiently.
- Offering guidance and support to ensure statutory duties are fulfilled.
- Liaising with Deputies and Civil Servants to advocate for the resources needed by the Convenor and Tribunal.
- Chairing up to six Board meetings per year, ensuring the Board operates effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing leadership and governance to the Board.
- Ensuring collaboration across the child welfare system.
- Supporting the delivery of the System’s collective functions.
- Representing the Board in discussions with key stakeholders.
Requirements
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
- Knowledge and experience relevant to the functions of the System.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Commitment to child welfare and public service.
Appointment Details
- Appointed by the Committee for Health & Social Care on the recommendation of the current Board.
- Initial term of three years.
