At Situations, we love to give back. We recognise the importance of supporting local charities and the Guernsey community, so below you will see a list of the varied charities and local projects that we assisted with throughout 2024:
All year – We advertised various charities’ vacancies for free – including Citizens Advice, GROW Ltd, GSPCA and others. www.citizensadvice.org.gg www.grow.gg www.gspca.org.gg
All year – Gemma regularly visited schools and colleges to provide their students with CV and Interview Skills workshops, Careers Advice, Finance Sector info, etc. for free, to help the pupils prepare for the world of work.
Dec 2024 – We all wore Christmas jumpers and donated to Save the Children UK on Christmas Jumper Day. www.savethechildren.org.uk
Nov 2024 – Our MD, Melissa, wore her Guernsey jumper and we donated to Les Bourgs Hospice for Wear a Guernsey Jumper Day. www.lesbourgshospice.org.gg
Oct 2024 – We sponsored advice leaflets for the charity Lungevity, which supports anyone with lung conditions in Guernsey (in memory of our Founder, Pat Lynch). www.lungevity.org.gg
Sep 2024 – We supported Genes for Jeans day by all staff wearing jeans and we donated to that charity. www.jeansforgenes.org
Sep 2024 – We provided a raffle prize for the evening event for the Elderly & Vulnerable, a registered Guernsey charity.
Sep 2024 – We provided 8 temps and their candidate pre-screening to Liberate for assistance at Guernsey Pride. www.liberate.gg We were also awarded the Liberate Rainbow Mark to show that we support people from the LGBTQ+ community.
Aug 2024 – We advertised vacancies for free for the Citizens Advice Bureau and Youth Commission.
Aug 2024 – We donated to GROW Ltd in memory of our former Chairman, Patrick Lynch.
May 2024 – Our staff volunteered at the GSPCA, clearing their Memory Garden.
Apr 2024 – Our staff volunteered at the GSPCA, painting their Chapel of Rest.
Apr 2024 - Gemma Le Page met with several young people who are supported by the Youth Commission, to help them with their careers. www.youthcommission.gg
Apr 2024 – States of Guernsey Family Support Services – We donated 5 x 12-month Beau Sejour health club memberships to underprivileged families that they support. https://gov.gg/familysupport
Mar 2024 – We all wore green for Kidney Disease Awareness Day and made a donation. www.worldkidneyday.org
